Explore New Music Opportunities

Join us in building a shared resource for new music.

The Explore section introduces you to ILINM’s broader platform—a platform where composers, performers, researchers, and audiences can access opportunities, professional resources, global updates on new music, and pathways for deeper artistic engagement.

Here, you’ll find curated materials that support creative development, professional growth, and an informed understanding of contemporary musical culture. From open calls and our database to international news, events, and research materials, Explore connects you with the perspectives, practitioners, and directions shaping the new music of today and the future.

Explore Sections:

Opportunities for composers, performers, ensembles, and researchers — including competitions, commissions, festivals, workshops, and project invitations from around the world.

Grants, scholarships, residencies, professional development platforms, and international programs designed to support artistic and academic growth in new music.

Updates from ILINM and the global new-music community — concerts, workshops, festivals, publications, emerging trends, and announcements from institutions and artistic partners.

Selected readings, digital scores, research materials, scholarly texts, and educational documents that support study, research, and creative practice in contemporary music.

A curated index of composers, performers, ensembles, institutions, festivals, research centers, and organizations engaged in new music around the world — continually expanding as a reference resource.

A growing digital collection of documented new-music activity — including project materials, recordings, interviews, lectures, and media contributions from artists and organizations who grant access. While ILINM is newly established, this Archive will serve as a long-term repository preserving both ILINM-related initiatives and significant international contributions to new music culture.

Become a Volunteer

Help Us Grow the Explore Platform

The Explore platform is built to serve the global new-music community — but to make it truly comprehensive, diverse, and continually evolving, we need collaborators like you.
If you’re passionate about contemporary music, curious about international developments, or eager to support open cultural resources, we invite you to join us as a volunteer contributor.

Working with ILINM Explore, you can help enrich the platform’s content, gather international opportunities, highlight important initiatives, and ensure that composers, performers, researchers, and audiences worldwide have access to high-quality information.

As a volunteer, you may contribute as a web writer, section editor, content researcher, or regional correspondent. No prior experience is required. If you’re new to editorial work, we provide guidance and the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop practical digital-content skills while working with our team.

Volunteers who demonstrate commitment and contribute actively may also be considered for scholarship support toward ILINM courses, training programs, or workshops.

If you want to take part, collaborate, or ask questions, we welcome your message — join us and help shape the future of the Explore platform.

Scholarship Opportunities

Those who actively contribute to building the Explore platform may be eligible for partial or full scholarships to ILINM study programs. We recognize the value of meaningful volunteer work, and we are committed to supporting your artistic and academic growth in return.

Certification & Career Pathways

Volunteers who contribute to ILINM’s editorial or research work receive an official Certificate of Contribution, a Recommendation Letter, and access to ILINM’s expanding professional network — including future vacancies, collaborations, and international opportunities.
